I have enjoyed reading RV Lifestyle magazine for many years and always look forward to the “Letters” section. We also had an issue with a broken cord on one of our day/night shades in our 2008 Keystone Cougar fifth wheel trailer last fall. I was not sure what to do and waited until the spring to address the issue. Your answer to Gerry Grasley in Vol. 42. No. 1 was what I needed and followed the 12 steps you listed.

In addition, I made a drawing of how the cords cross. At my wife’s suggestion, I went to Fabricland in Oshawa, ON and found the cord I needed at $5 for 20 metres. Our blind is again 100 percent functional. I also started a three-ring binder five years ago, titled “Trailer Maintenance” and have included portions of your “Letters” section of the magazine for reference. Keep up the great work. There are many RVers out there needing your answers!
