Evotrex-PG5: Power Meets Possibility
I just returned from the CES 2026 show in Las Vegas, where I had the opportunity to tour the revolutionary EVOTREX-PG5, the world’s first power-generating RV trailer. Forget about the ‘Back to the Future’ mentality… EVOTREX is promoting the new ‘Forward to the Future’ concept, and they have hit the mark with their new PG5 model!

Evotrex isn’t just selling another travel trailer here; they’re introducing a completely new paradigm in what an RV can be. Unlike other traditional RV campers, the 28’8” Evotrex-PG5 is not merely a towable home on wheels — it’s a power-generating adventure ecosystem — providing you with an untethered outdoor experience with all the comforts of home, and a lot more.
The new Evotrex-PG5 is redefining what off-grid travel looks like. Built around a fully integrated power-generating system, this innovative travel trailer combines a 43 kWh lithium battery, rooftop solar, and an onboard generator to deliver true energy independence—no hookups required.

Designed with the future in mind, the PG5 features Evotrex’s RangeBoost™ technology, allowing compatible electric tow vehicles to regain range while towing. Inside, RVers will find a modern, residential-style interior with two queen beds, an all-electric kitchen, and a full dry bath. Outside, a push-button roofed patio expands living space and invites travelers to fully enjoy their surroundings.
With rugged construction, smart controls, and unmatched power capability, the Evotrex-PG5 offers a bold new option for RVers ready to travel farther and stay longer—comfortably and confidently.
A Game Changer in Power and Freedom
The standout innovation of the Evotrex-PG5 is undeniably its fully integrated power ecosystem. While most RVs rely on campsite hookups, small battery banks, or oversized — and often noisy — generators, the PG5 incorporates solar, battery, and generator power sources into a single intelligent system. With a 43 kWh automotive-grade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, 1.5 kWh rooftop solar, and Horizon™ — its high-efficiency onboard generator working in harmony, this mobile adventure pod produces more than 270 kWh of usable power in a single cycle. That’s enough energy to run HVAC, appliances, and electronics for days without ever plugging into an expensive campsite hookup.

I toured the PG5 with Alex Xiao, CEO and founder of Evotrex. Alex explained that the PG5 isn’t just convenience — it’s true off-grid autonomy that allows you to explore unique locations far from any electrical infrastructure. The PG5 gives you freedom from power worries. And because the Horizon™ generator automatically recharges the battery when needed, you never have to decide between short runs with a noisy generator or stressing over low battery levels at night.
Unmatched Trail Companion for EV and Gas Tow Vehicles
We are seeing more and more electric tow vehicles, and the PG5’s RangeBoost™ vehicle-to-vehicle charging system is nothing short of revolutionary. Many electric truck owners struggle with losing range while towing, but Evotrex tackles that head-on by allowing controlled, bidirectional energy transfer from the PG5 battery to your EV while on the move. It’s like towing a mobile battery pack that helps keep you going — a capability almost unheard of in the RV world.
For traditional gas or diesel truck owners, the PG5’s Active Power Assist system reduces drag and enhances towing efficiency, making every journey smoother and more confident on the road or offroad, navigating dusty forest roads or heading through the desert in search of that prime sunset location.
Comfortable, Modern Living — Without Compromise

Power and technical innovation are impressive, but comfort and usability matter just as much on a long trip. The interior of the PG5 was more luxurious than my high-end hotel suite. With two residential queen beds — not the usual cramped RV sizes — there’s plenty of room to sleep up to four adults comfortably. The open-plan layout, 6’5” headroom, expansive windows and thoughtful storage solutions make the space feel generous rather than cramped.

I was given a tour of the PG5’s interior by Ivan Wang, CMO of Evotrex. Ivan showed me a full electric kitchen complete with a two-burner induction cooktop and range hood, a 3-in-1 microwave-air-fryer oven, a spacious 10 cu ft refrigerator/freezer, and attractive high-end countertops that make meal prep a joy — not a chore. The PG5 comes with an impressive 83.5 cu. ft. of eye-pleasing optimized storage, with attractive accent lighting. A large dry bath with a full shower and instant hot water adds a level of comfort that sets the PG5 apart from many conventional travel trailers.
Climate comfort is also expertly handled. With a 17,000 BTU HVAC system, intelligent ventilation, and well-insulated walls built to automotive standards, the PG5 provides a cozy interior in both summer heat and winter cold. Blackout shades and bug screens across seven windows make sleeping in pleasant weather a delight.
Expanding Your Living Space—and Your Outdoor Experience
Evotrex didn’t stop at a comfortable interior. One of my favorite features is the PG5’s Terrece™ roofed patio area—an industry-first outdoor living space that expands your usable square footage by 43 sq ft with the push of a button. Talk about the perfect setting for morning coffee, stargazing dinners, or simply relaxing near the campfire while staying sheltered from the elements.

There’s also a power awning that provides generous shade on sun-splashed afternoons and an outside utility bar that gives an instant home base for coffee setups, workstation tasks, or meal prep under the open sky. Travelling with kayaks, skis, SUPs? Not a problem with the PG5’s 7′2″ pass-through storage tunnel located conveniently in the bow, providing 38.1 cu. ft. of exterior storage space that doesn’t compromise your living space. These thoughtful outdoor inclusions completely transform how you interact with your surroundings—the world becomes your living room.

Rugged Yet Sophisticated Build Quality
Despite its advanced tech and creature comforts, the PG5 is engineered for serious rugged use. A high-strength automotive chassis, air suspension, dual-axle and 33-inch all-terrain tires ensure safety travelling off the beaten path—not just to the nearest RV park. The proof is shown on their website videos. Zero-wood, multi-layer insulated construction ensures thermal efficiency and long-term durability, even in wet or demanding climates where typical RV buildups fail.
Remote control parking and automated leveling take what can be the most frustrating parts of setting up camp and remove them entirely. You can navigate tight spots or uneven ground with confidence thanks to easy electric maneuvers via the PG5’s control tablet.
Control and Connectivity for the Modern Traveler
Everything in the PG5 is designed to feel intuitive. A central tablet interface lets you monitor power systems, control lighting and climate, view exterior cameras, check water tank levels, and manage all onboard functions from one place. This level of integrated control adds real peace of mind—particularly when you’re far from traditional services. And you can plan your adventures using Evotrex’s helpful Range Calculator and Off-grid Calculator: https://www.evotrex.com/pages/calculator
A Worthy Investment in Adventure
Alex said that prices start around $119,990 US for the Pioneer and $159,990 US for the fully-equipped Atlas version. But for the lifestyle it enables—extended off-grid freedom, EV range-boosting capability, surprisingly luxurious living, and rugged adventure readiness—the PG5 represents a true breakthrough in RV design.
I came away from the show with the idea that it is hard to call the PG5 just a travel trailer. For anyone who dreams of extended off-the-grid journeys, better towing support for electric trucks, or simply elevating the comfort and capability of their camping experience—the Evotrex-PG5 is a mobile experience that doesn’t just deliver… it redefines what an RV can be.
