As we prepared this 36th annual RV Buyer’s Guide issue for press, I took a few minutes to reflect on the many happy memories of a two generation involvement with the RV lifestyle as a family vacation alternative.

When we began publishing Camping Canada Magazine (which evolved into RV Lifestyle Magazine), the highlight of the year for my family would be the summer vacations, when everyone would pack their gear, and join me for several weeks of continuous RV road tests. We would travel the adventure highways of North America, switching from motorhomes to travel trailers, fifth wheels, and pop-up tent campers as we worked our way through the roster of vehicles to be evaluated for the magazine’s road test reports.

Our efforts to bring readers the very best information on how to choose and how to use the RV of their dreams became permanently intertwined with the concept of family values, and a great love and appreciation for the freedom which we all enjoy as Canadians.

Today, with the second generation at the helm of the magazine, we continue to enjoy our RV adventures, and it’s almost time for the grandchildren to take their first RV vacations.

Over the years, we have learned that the most important decision that a family can make is not the choice of a specific RV type or model, but the selection of a friendly and knowledgeable RV dealer
