| Do
your homework before buying your next unit.
Many people purchasing an RV put too much emphasis
on weight and length, and don’t give enough
consideration to balance, aerodynamics, suspension,
centre of gravity and hitches. However, you
should know how long your RV is, and what it
weighs.
This year, the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration introduced new rules that put
strict guidelines on manufacturers. Such a move
has encouraged them to accurately report the
load capacity of every unit. Because some manufacturers
have been doing this for a few years, it’s
not a big change for them, yet some of their
weights weren’t accurate, which created
an uneven playing field.
