Bold
And Rugged.

With
a reputation as a practical, get-the-job-done truck, the new
Ford F-350 Lariat is a proven leader in the over-8,500-pound
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating truck segment. Building on the success
of extensive 2005 improvements, this Super Duty Official Tow
Vehicle enters 2006 with a series of new packages containing
useful features.
Provided by Polito Ford/Lincoln of Toronto, our test Crew Cab
truck had dual rear wheels to carry the extra load of a heavy
trailer. The F-350 Super Duty can also be purchased with a Regular
Cab, or Super Cab body styles in XL, and XLT trims.
Equipment
previously included in the Lariat Luxury Package is now standard
on Lariat. A Chrome Package is available on XLT, Lariat Super
Cab and Crew Cab, including chrome grille, exhaust tip, tow
hooks, mirror caps, pickup-bed tie-downs, and five-inch, tubular
step bars. Our Official Tow Vehicle rode on Goodyear LT245/75R17E
tires, although 20-inch aluminum wheels with LT275/65R20 tires
are optional.
F-350 trucks are assembled in Louisville, Kentucky, with 50-state
emissions now standard on diesel versions. The segment’s
best-selling diesel engine, the 6.0-Litre Turbo diesel Power
Stroke, is rated at 570 pound-feet of torque, and 325 horsepower.
All
engines benefit from electronic throttle control, which provides
economy and performance benefits. Besides the diesel engine
in this truck, you can order a 6.8-litre, three-valve, Triton
V-10 gasoline engine that produces 355 horsepower and 455 pound-feet
of torque, or a modular 5.4-litre, three-valve, Triton V-8 that
delivers 300 horsepower, and 365 pound-feet of torque.
