| ?There’s nothing quite like the glimmer in the eye of an RV enthusiast when the first signs of spring signal the beginning of a new camping season. The robins sing their song, the snowthrower is packed away, and the planning starts for the next family RV adventure.
Our intrepid RV writers have some suggestions for your 2008 itinerary, with travel specialist James Stoness sharing the sights and sounds of his Mexican adventure, and Wagonmaster M.B. Wilson exploring historic Route 66. Patricia Kerr shows us the natural beauty of St. Joseph’s Island, and the Cooking Ladies, Lamont Mackay and Phyllis Hinz take us to Natchez, Mississippi.
At RV Lifestyle Magazine we have been busy reviewing some of the more interesting 2008 models, in preparation for a very busy camping season. Three of these reviews have been included in this issue, covering the spectrum of RV models available in Canada. For the family with a van or an SUV, looking for an affordable way to get into the RV lifestyle, our Senior Corporate Advisor Wally Callaghan selected Heartland RV’s new North Trail 31-foot travel trailer, an excellent value in a vehicle large enough to accommodate the family, with lightweight and aerodynamic design to keep your carbon footprint within reasonable range.
We also present our review the 40th Anniversary Jayco Designer Series fifth wheel, a trailer that embodies the latest in slide-out engineering to create a luxurious home away from home with one of the best interior floor plans we’ve seen to date.
Our third road test vehicle is “Hollywood on wheels”, a rear diesel Allegro Bus from Tiffin that encompasses all the luxury you could ask for in a motorcoach.
Of course, these three units are only a sample of the many vehicles that are available today to bring the thrill of the RV lifestyle to Canadian families. Our annual RV Lifestyle Magazine Buyer’s Guide edition, on sale at newsstands throughout the nation, includes information on more than 300 models spanning the entire range of motorized and towable RV’s. You can peruse a sample of the RV Buyer’s Guide on-line at www.rvlifemag.com - look for the feature article “Choosing an RV”, and follow the links for additional information.
Next month, RV Lifestyle Magazine will publish our 37th annual Canadian Campground Directory issue, listing more than 4,000 RV campgrounds from sea to sea. It’s a very useful special edition, included as a bonus if you subscribe today. Take a moment to check out the special subscription offer on page 69, and your copy of the 2008 Canadian Campground Directory issue will be on its way to your home in a few weeks, just in time for the beginning of the camping season.
