| A?vid RV enthusiasts often look forward to the Autumn months with an eye to adventure – this is the best time of year to explore the roads less traveled, experiencing the subtle qualities of the landscape and the leisurely pace of life that returns to the tourist areas once the summer crowds have gone home.
Our RV Lifestyle road test teams find this time of year particularly inviting – the orange and red colours of the autumn leaves bring an unrivaled beauty to the northern vista, and the lure of the open road – without any sign of traffic, makes RV touring a pure pleasure.
It was in one of these Autumn frames of mind that we crafted the content of this issue – Tech Editor Garth Cane came to the table with an article on preparing your RV for winter; Andy Thomson considered the many questions that readers have posed during the months leading up to the tow vehicle buying season; M.B. and Karen Wilson, our Wagonmasters, focussed on a really interesting southern destination, travel specialist James Stoness invited us to read along as he and his wife Sylvia explored the beauty of the Rio Bravo area of Texas, and freelancer Norman Barrett shared his magnificent fall foliage adventure in the White Mountains of scenic New Hampshire.
With the introduction of new models bringing excitement to RV dealerships throughout Canada, we had the opportunity to take a first look at three distinctively Canadian RVs – the Titan, from Great West Van, which makes its very first print appearance in this issue of RV Lifestyle Magazine; the Triple E Commander, proudly built in Winkler, Manitoba, and the Northern Lite Queen Classic SE truck camper, a four-season favourite that’s tough enough to endure the rigors of the Canadian climate.
As we prepare for the busy RV show season, the road test teams are lining up their assignments for the spring and summer issues. We will present a cross section of the more notable models available in the Canadian market accompanied by a wealth of information on how to choose the ideal RV for your family, and how to enjoy the lifestyle to the max.
Our Annual RV Buyer’s Guide, scheduled for February 2008 will expand the range of this coverage to provide a comprehensive view of the Canadian RV experience. Our April Canadian Campground Directory will complete the picture with listings for more than 4000 campgrounds from sea to sea.
If this is your first issue of RV Lifestyle Magazine, I would like to thank you for sharing your leisure time with us.
